How to Book Capri Beach Clubs and Plan the Perfect Day

Booking a Capri beach club well is less about finding a random reservation and more about choosing the right kind of day.

The first thing to decide is not the club name. It is the mood. Do you want iconic and scenic? Quiet and refined? Family-friendly with a pool as a backup if the sea is rough? Lunch-driven and leisurely? Once you know the type of day you want, the list gets much shorter and far more useful.

In high season, book earlier than you think you need to. Capri rewards advance planning, and beach clubs are one of the clearest examples. If you wait until the last minute, you may still find something, but you will have fewer choices and less control over the kind of experience you end up having.

When you are comparing options, think beyond the photos. The setting matters, of course, but so do access, layout, atmosphere, and whether the restaurant is somewhere you genuinely want to linger. If you are traveling with children, ask yourself whether a pool would make the day much easier. If you are prioritizing lunch, that should absolutely shape your decision. If you are dreaming of the classic Capri fantasy, choose accordingly rather than talking yourself into a more practical choice you do not actually want.

It also helps to think about where the beach club fits into the rest of your day. Are you staying nearby? Are you arriving by boat? Do you want to pair the day with shopping, aperitivo, or a later dinner? Capri beach clubs work best when they are not awkwardly squeezed between too many other plans. Treating the club as the destination for the day almost always produces a better experience.

If you are deciding between more than one option, ask a few simple questions. What kind of sea access does it have? How lunch-forward is it? Does it suit couples, adults, families, or a mixed group? How polished or low-key is the energy? Could you happily stay there for hours? The right answer is usually the place where the practical details and the emotional appeal line up at the same time.

La Fontelina is a good example of this. It is not simply a place with a beautiful view. It is a full Capri experience: the setting, the aesthetic, the rhythm, and the food all work together. That is why it tends to stay in your memory. It was never just the reservation. It was the right kind of day.

My biggest planning advice is to book based on your priorities, not just on what sounds famous. The most useful categories are simple: iconic, refined, family-friendly, or lunch-first. Once you know which one you want, you can book with much more confidence.

How Booking a Capri Beach Club Actually Works

One of the most useful things to know before planning a Capri beach club day is that there is no single standard booking process.

And honestly, that feels very Capri.

Some clubs let you book instantly online, almost like reserving a restaurant. Others ask you to submit a request through a web form and wait for confirmation. Some still use a more traditional paper form that needs to be completed and returned. Others may prefer that you call directly. In other words, booking a Capri beach club is not always as simple as clicking one button and calling it done.

That is not a bad thing. It just means you should go in expecting a process that can feel a little more personal, a little less standardized, and occasionally a little more old-school than what travelers are used to elsewhere.

The most common ways Capri beach clubs take reservations

Instant online booking

A few clubs offer direct online reservations, which is usually the easiest route. If a club has this option, you can typically select your date, choose your setup, and confirm on the spot.

Website inquiry forms

This is one of the more common Capri approaches. You submit your preferred date and details through the club’s website, then wait for them to confirm availability, pricing, and your reservation.

Manual or paper forms

Some clubs still handle reservations in a way that feels a little more traditional. You may need to complete a reservation form and send it back before the booking is finalized. It is less polished, perhaps, but not at all unusual for Capri.

Phone bookings

In some cases, the easiest way to reserve is simply to call. This is especially true when a club wants to explain setup options, availability, or booking details more directly.

Expect payment or a deposit at the time of booking

Another detail worth knowing is that many Capri beach clubs require payment, or at least a deposit, when you reserve.

That can mean full prepayment, a partial deposit, or card details to secure your booking. Especially during high season, clubs are rarely holding prime spots without some form of commitment.

It is best to think of this less like reserving a casual beach chair and more like booking a sought-after summer experience. The demand is real, and the better clubs know it.

Do not let the process throw you off

If you are used to booking everything instantly online, some Capri beach clubs may initially feel a little less streamlined than expected. But in practice, the process is usually much easier than it sounds.

The clubs are generally very friendly, very accustomed to international travelers, and usually speak excellent English. So even if the system feels a little manual, it is rarely difficult to navigate. If something is unclear, it is completely normal to reach out and ask.

My best advice

Treat Capri beach club booking as part of the experience, not an inconvenience.

Expect that the process may vary from one club to the next. Expect that you may need to wait for confirmation. Expect that a deposit is often required. And expect that even when the method feels a little old-school, it is usually handled warmly and efficiently.

Once you know that, the entire process feels much less mysterious and much more manageable.

Styled & Miles note: Capri beach clubs are polished, but not always standardized. The booking process often reflects that. A little more personal, a little less automated, and entirely worth it once the day is yours. Don't fret if it seems clunky, I've never had an issue.

Capri beach club planning should feel like curation, not stress. Choose the atmosphere you want, reserve early, and build the rest of the day around it. That is the formula.
